Cruzeiro officially announce the contract renewal of defender Dedé for two more seasons
Cruzeiro have officially confirmed the contract renewal of Brazilian defender Dedé, who signs a new deal until the end of 2018.
Bruno Vicintin, vice president of the club, was responsible for confirming the defender's stay at Toca da Raposa II. He said: "First of all, we are very proud to announce the renewal of Dedé's contract for two more years. He made it clear to us, the board, that he would not leave Cruzeiro, until he renewed his contract. I'm proud and happy to announce Dedé for two more seasons."
The leader was not the only one to comment on the new agreement. The defender also gave a press conference and expressed his delight following the renewal. He said: "A very happy day for me, a new achievement in my life, this renewal with Cruzeiro. The last time I came here, it was to announce my surgery. A sad day, not only for me, but for all who accompany me. I'm very happy, because I have a beautiful story in Cruzeiro, despite the two years of injury. I want to give continuity to this story, do more beautiful things in these two seasons, and it's what the Cruzeiro fans deserve to see, God willing, without any injuries. I thank God first for giving me strength in these last days of 2016. We had good response to my injury and in the recovery. I'm excited for 2017 to arrive soon, 100%, without any kind of injury."
Dedé had a contract with Cruzeiro until April 2017. However, due to the four injuries he had in his right knee, he agreed to renew with the club by accepting the same salary [around R$ 400,000 per-month] in the new deal.
