Santos wants to bring Ecuadorian midfielder Cazares on loan and looks for ways to convince Atlético Mineiro.
Santos are interested in signing midfielder Cazares from Atlético Mineiro for 2017, and the interest was confirmed by the board of the club. Leaders, however, find it difficult to sign the player on a permanent deal, due to the high cost, and hence seek a loan. Cazares was signed from Independiente Del Valle for a fee around R$ 6 million. He had a good start at Atlético Mineiro, but then showed inconsistency throughout the season and ended 2016 in the reserves bench. Coach Dorival Júnior is a fan of the 24-year-old Ecuadorian and suggested the name to the club’s board, even though he knew that the negotiation wouldn’t be easy. Cazares’ contract with Galo closes at the end of 2019. Santos have sounded out Call to express their interest, and already studies ways to convince then to release Cazares. Santos would offer financial compensation and players in return. Striker Thiago Ribeiro, who has previously played for Atlético in 2015, can be use by Santos as an exchanging option. Santos have already completed the signings of defender Cleber, right-back Matheus Ribeiro and striker Vladimir Hernández.
