19 year old Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesús says that the offer of Manchester City was just too good to turn down. Having won the Brasileirão with Palmeiras, Jesús will join up with his City teammates in January.

Jesús was courted by a number of Europe’s top clubs during the summer, but could not resist the opportunity to work with Pep Guardiola, “Sometimes you have an opportunity and can’t let it go,” the Brazilian told Goal. “That is what happened to me.

“Manchester City can help me, and I can help Manchester City too through my performances. I arrive with high expectations and I’m aiming to repay the faith shown in me and the affection shown by the fans.

Jesús, who has been spared Palmeiras’ final league fixture of the season on Sunday, added that he would like to play for Palmeiras again one day, “But, when I come back to play in Brazil, I will play for Palmeiras again.”
