According to Football Leaks, which reveals details of the defender"s contract, French team Paris Saint-Germain had to pay taxes that the Brazilian was due in Italy – around €2.5 million.
In order to get the Brazilian defender from AC Milan in 2012, the Paris club has spared no effort. It was agreed that he would win a €400,000 bonus for French champion titles [there have been four since his arrival], plus €300,000 per qualification to the UEFA Champions League. Thiago Silva also receives €350,000 more if he plays 60% of the team"s official matches. There is a clause, however, which indicates that the club had to pay the taxes that the Brazilian was due in Italy, an amount of around €2.5 million."
The defender also received a compensation from PSG in respect to his sponsorship with Nike, “which does not pay in the same way players who work in big clubs, such as Milan [category A], or in clubs considered medium [category B]. This amount was reported to be US $140,000.
