Wu Xiaohui, chairman of Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua, has revealed that they’re in advanced negotiations with Argentine striker Carlos Tévez, although Boca Juniors still have some pending problems to solve.
Shanghai Shenhua president Wu Xiaohui revealed on Monday that negotiations for the departure of Carlos Tévez from Boca Juniors are advancing. In an interview with the Italian newspaper Corrierre dello Sport, the president pointed out, however, that the Argentine club still has some pending issues to resolve before formalizing the transfer. The report says that the Chinese offer will involve an annual contract of €40 million. An idol at Boca Juniors, Carlos Tévez scored 22 goals in 52 games in his second spell with the Argentine club. Between 2001 and 2004, before coming to Corinthians, Tévez had found the net 38 times in 104 matches. Wu Xiaohui said: “Boca have some problems to be solved, and in the right moment, I will tell the details. We have made a great effort and we can say that there has been a noticeable acceleration in the negotiations. We will continue to devote ourselves to the maximum in this negotiation. We will try to give our fans a pleasant surprise as soon as possible.”
