Chelsea winger Willian insists that he is feeling good again after a difficult year in 2016. The Brazilian has lost his place in the Blues’ side to Victor Moses and has also seen Philippe Coutinho take his starting XI spot for Brazil.

Willian’s mother died after a long battle with cancer in October. He came off the bench and scored a goal to help Chelsea seal a 3-1 victory away at Manchester City and he told the official Chelsea website that he is starting to feel good again.

"I feel good now. There have been difficult moments for me and my family and it"s good for me and for the team to go on the pitch again, to score a goal and to help my team-mates. It"s always difficult to play here, but we came with a great mentality to play this game.

"The first half was difficult, but in the second half we played more confidently. We did well with and without the ball, and we scored goals. That"s always good for us. It was a great ball [for his goal], there was space and Diego made a great assist for me and I finished well."

Willian marked his goal with a touching tribute to Chapocoense, after the tragedy that struck their club last week, "It"s a difficult moment for us in Brazil," he said. "Just to do this for them, to say they have to keep strong, their families, and God bless everyone."
