Manchester City bound striker Gabriel Jesús has described the last six months of his career “unforgettable” as he contemplates his final games for Palmeiras prior to joining Manchester City. They need just a point in their final two games to wrap up the Brasileirão title.

Jesús has also made a mark for his country, scoring 5 goals in his first 6 games for Brazil. Jesús told UOL Esporte that 2016 has been a whirlwind, “These last six months have been unforgettable in my career . I am very happy and fulfilled by the way things have been going.

“Getting into the Seleção is a feat that I will never forget, to wear the shirt 9 of so many stars that have passed. Having this opportunity, I have to grab it and keep showing that I deserve it. I do not treat as pressure, but as an opportunity to show that I have quality.”

The 19 year old is relishing the chance to work under City coach Pep Guardiola too, “Because he called me, because of everything he has already achieved, I’m crazy to start working there and try to help Manchester City as fast as possible,” he enthused.

“I’ve always watched the Premier League and I’ve seen that it’s a good league to play in. Working with Guardiola and the players there, many of them I’ve played with in video games, it’s going to be an unforgettable experience for me.

“It’s an opportunity that I’ll have to work with the best coach in the world, I could not let that slip and I did not think twice about accepting Manchester City’s offer. I like to learn and perfect myself, I and I will do everything I can to adapt as soon as possible.”
