Paris Saint Germain defender Marquinhos has backed the return of club ultras at Les Parc des Princes. The ultras have been suspended from the stadium this season, but the ban is gradually being lifted, with the ultras returning.
Brazilian defender Marquinhos has welcomed their return, as he believes their vocal support is beneficial for the team during home games, “For us yes, it’s nice to have atmosphere. Sometimes the game is a little cold, we are under pressure at times and we have the supporters who are with us, we hear them.
“That makes a difference, because I in Brazil I was used to it, to the fans, in Italy too. Here I think it’s essential to have that as well. If we can choose, we want the supporters on our side.“ His teammate Thiago Motta voiced similar support in October as the ultras were gradually welcomed back to Parc des Princes.
Paris Saint Germain play Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium tonight in the UEFA Champions League, knowing that a win will see them confirmed as group winners. A defeat, and Arsenal will earn that accolade.
