PSG want to renew the contracts of Thiago Silva, Marquinhos and Édinson Cavani
According to L'Équipe, French champions Paris Saint-Germain are working to extend the contracts of Brazilian defenders Thiago Silva and Marquinhos.
With the end of the year approaching, Paris Saint-Germain began their planning for the second half of the season and have set some objectives. The priority at the moment, for example, is the contract renewal of three players: Marquinhos, Thiago Silva and Édinson Cavani. The information is from French newspaper L'Équipe. The most urgent case is that of club captain Thiago Silva, whose contract ends at the end of next July. According to the report, the Brazilian national team defender is expected to extend his bond until 2019. Marquinhos' contract runs until June 2019, but PSG plans to renew the deal to increase the release clause and resist the interest of other teams on the player. Marquinhos, who was successful in the Rio Olympic Games with Brazil, is a regular starter for PSG and the Seleção. Cavani, who's now the main name in PSG's attack after the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimović, has scored 15 goals this season. Talks regarding a renewal have been held since April, but little progress has been made so far. The current bond ends in June 2018.
Paris Saint-Germain returns to the field on Wednesday for the UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against Premier League side Arsenal.
