Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho wishes to transfer to Barcelona
Liverpool's star this season, Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho reportedly plans to transfer to Barcelona.
The information is from Catalan newspaper SPORT. The Brazilian attacking midfielder has a contract with Liverpool until 2020 and the English club have offered a new deal. The newspaper reports that agents of the player, Kia Joorabchian and Giuliano Bertolucci, had spoken with Barcelona last season, but the Catalans would have had other preferences at that time. Coutinho's eye-catching performances for Liverpool have attracted the attention of major European sides. Paris Saint-Germain are one of those who have expressed an intention to sign the player. Former striker Ronaldo said recently that he would like to see Coutinho at Real Madrid, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
"The reality is that Coutinho would like to play in Barcelona, where his football could have more continuity alongside talented players," says the newspaper.
