Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has once again reserved special praise for attacker Phillipe Coutinho, insisting that it was work rate in particular that caught the eye during Liverpool’s 4-2 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

The win moved Liverpool up to 3rd in the table, on the same points as Arsenal and Manchester City and Coutinho was once again instrumental in an authoritative Reds display in South East London on Saturday evening.

“What can I say? Phil is a good football player, everybody knew that before, I think,” Klopp told his post match press conference, “For him, he is now 24, his work-rate is outstanding and that’s important for the team.

“You cannot change this because you cannot be a genius every day, but then you have to be kind of a proper football player still. All good. That’s how the boys are. With 10 it would have been difficult, so I was happy with all of the players on the pitch.”
