Brazil coach Tite says that he will be considerate of the needs of clubs in the Brasileirão when constructing his squad for November qualifiers against Argentina and Peru. In November, the Brasileirão will be in its final weeks and clubs face losing players for important domestic games- a consideration Tite says he will be mindful of.
“I will always consider my selection humanly and professionally, without prejudic. But I will be as consistent as possible. If you have a player from Palmeiras and Atletico Mineiro, and I already have one from Palmeiras, I can call from Atletico. But the priority will always be the national team.”
Tite also admits that he considered substituting Neymar during Brazil’s 5-0 win over Bolivia. Already on a yellow card, a further caution would have seen Neymar suspended for the Superclasico against Argentina in November. However, Tite resisted the urge.
“I thought 10 times of replacing him. The maturity process has to be felt, so I also I told him: ‘Neymar, forget about it, play in the last third of the field, take the ball, dribble. Go and play.’ It is a process of maturity that the player needs to go through, but I thought about replacing him.
“He will improve in relation to the cards. I’m sure he will improve; he will have to learn two things; To be a different talent, he will be targeted and fouled constantly and he will have to find a way of absorbing that.”
