The businessman Candido Padin Neto says that he has a document from Santos which makes him eligible for 10% of Gabigol’s transfer fee.
The Court of São Paulo have ordered Brazilian club Santos to deposit in court 10% of the transfer fee received from the sale of striker Gabigol. The court order is following a lawsuit filed by the businessman. Economic rights of the striker were transferred to Italian side Inter Milan at the end of August, after they had agreed to pay a fee of €29 million. Padin Neto claims to have documents signed with Santos that ensures the transfer of 10% of the value of any transaction involving Gabigol. The agent claims to have known Gabigol in 2004, when the player was a child. Since then, the agent would have given financial support to the family. When Gabigol signed his professional contract with Santos, Neto Padin communicated that he has achieved the right to receive 10% of future transactions. Santos have two days to make the deposit in court, and noncompliance with the court order may result in a fine for the club.
