Aged 21, Brazilian attacking midfielder Otávio is going through a great phase at FC Porto, after returning from his loan spell at Vitória Guimarães.
According to the information from Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola, Otávio has caught the attention of Italian giants Juventus, and has a chance to move to Turin in the next transfer window in January. Representatives of the player haven’t confirmed the information, but the press in Turin already addresses the transferability as real, mainly after the four games he played in the UEFA Champions League – two were in the qualifying stage, and the other two in the group stage. Brazilian club Internacional can benefit from a possible transfer, based on FIFA’s solidarity mechanism. Otávio went through the youth system of Internacional before becoming a major figure in the professional team – in 2013, he made 39 appearances and scored seven goals. Purchased by Porto in 2014, he was sent out on loan to Vitória Guimarães, where he got a lot of attention especially last season, where he registered 27 matches and six goals.
The success of left-back Alex Sandro at Juventus also encourages the leaders who want Otávio. A little over a year ago, Porto had sold Alex Sandro to Juventus for €25 million. After his first year, the former Santos man is a regular in Italy, fitting well in the defensive system and vital in supporting the team’s attacks.
