Barcelona forward Neymar will not remain with the Brazilian national team delegation after receiving a second yellow card in the 5-0 victory over Bolivia; he"s suspended for Tuesday"s fixture against Venezuela.
Even before the win over Bolivia, the coaching staff had planned to release players who could not participate in the next game. In addition to the Barcelona striker, five other players came to Natal with the danger of being booked and subsequently miss the trip to Venezuela. But Dani Alves, Miranda, Filipe Luís, Giuliano and Lucas Lima all came out of Thursday"s game safely. Brazil"s team coordinator Edu Gaspar said: “I spoke with Fábio [Mahseredjian, physical trainer], logically with Tite, and nothing more righteous than returning home and rest. He"s played 10 straight games, 16 if you count the Olympics, always playing 90 minutes. The recommendation is to rest, he has a very large load of games."
Edu Gaspar vehemently denied that the yellow card for Neymar may have been planned so that he wouldn"t run the risk of missing the classic against Argentina, on November 10. On Friday, it is not just Neymar who"s free to do whatever he wants. All players of the Brazilian team are given a day off and have to be present for dinner only.
