Having been linked with a move away from his native Brazil on a number of occasions over the last few years, Santos’ Lucas Lima looks set to once again be a man in demand come the transfer window, with clubs from both the English Premier League and Chinese Super League reportedly keen to acquire the services of the 26-year-old. Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is a known admirer of the Brazilian international, and had looked odds on in the football betting this summer to sign the playmaker, before Santos’ financial demands blocked such a move.

Lima will be hoping to add to his twelve international caps during Brazil’s 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign, with Brazil being ranked alongside Argentina and Uruguay to qualify for the finals in the football betting market at bookmakers Coral’s website. The emergence of Lima for Tite’s side has only seen his stock rise, with wealthy Chinese teams now rivalling some of Europe’s best for his services. Brazil are set for another big showdown with Argentina in November, and along with an away clash with Peru, will perhaps shape the team’s success in qualifying.

With his current contract due to end at the end of 2017, Lima has failed to rule out a move to Asia, with call ups for the likes of Renato Augusto, Gil and Paulinho putting him at ease over reluctances over such a move. The likes of Bayern Munich and Napoli have been linked with moves for Lima in the past, however it now appears more likely that a move to China will emerge if Santos fail to convince him to stay at the club he joined in 2014. Having scored two goals for Brazil to date, bookmakers Coral have Chinese Super League outfit Hebei Fortune as favourites in the football betting to sign Lima come January.

As for Santos, Santos are currently in the running to qualify for the 2017 Copa Libertadores now that Brazil have been awarded two extra spots for the competition, with Lima playing a prominent role in their success since the departure of Gabriel Barbosa to Inter Milan.
