Santos right-back Daniel Guedes, who’s the only player available for the position than Victor Ferraz, had received two proposals in the summer transfer window, but coach Dorival Júnior wanted to keep him at the club.
Even as a reserve to Victor Ferraz, young right-back Daniel Guedes received two official loan proposals recently, from Napoli and Botafogo. Santos, however, rejected the offers following the request of coach Dorival Júnior. The player, who admits that he was eager to know about the football in Italy, is happy for the confidence of the coach. He said: “Really the two proposals existed, but Dorival vetoed. If he did so, it’s because he believes so much in me. He trust in my work, and he sees my progress everyday. I think that’s important. I will continue working so that he can see this evolution and when he needs, he know that I will be available to do a good job.”
Daniel added: “It’s natural I’ve been a little anxious until the outcome of the situation, of course messes a bit with the head. A great team, when a player sees that there’s a possibility, he thinks about going to Europe, and then he thinks about the Brazilian national team. Each step is a step. So when there was contact, of course I had this interest to know Italian football, a more tactical football, more fast. But after that, my focus is totally here in Santos.”
