Tite has announced his squad for October World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Venezuela. The Seleção play Bolivia in Natal on 6th October, before travelling to Mérida to play Venezuela on 11th October.
There were recalls for Thiago Silva, Oscar, Fernandinho and Roberto Firmino. Willian and Philippe Coutinho complete the contingent of Premier League players in Tite’s second Brazil squad. He also called Flamengo goalkeeper Muralha in place of Marcelo Groge. Gabigol and Taíson drop out from the September squad.
Commenting on the recall of Thiago Silva, banished from the national set up by Dunga after Brazil’s exit from the 2015 Copa América, Tite said, “One of the first things I did as national coach was to call Thiago and Marcelo.
“I wanted to know about their will, their ambition to participate in the Seleção. Marcelo said that the whole family is happy when he is called up. Thiago also. I never assured I’d select them, but I wanted to know about their desire to be in the squad.”
