Gabriel Jesus was a starter for Brazil during their Gold medal winning campaign in the Olympic Games, and scored two great goals against Ecuador in his debut for the senior national team.
For goalkeeper Fernando Prass, the 19-year-old"s characteristics are reminiscent of Brazilian legendary striker Ronaldo when O Fenômeno emerged in football. The goalkeeper who was cut from the Olympic squad due to an injury, is said to be close to Gabriel Jesus, and also highlighted the improvement in the finishing ability of the player. Prass told SporTV: “Physically, he [Gabriel Jesus] is very strong, he"s explosive. I don"t want to compare with anyone, but he often reminds me of Ronaldo, the movement, the burst. Gabriel has matured very fast, left the youth, played the Copa São Paulo and was in business a year later. Now he"s won the Gold medal, was sold to Manchester City, and starts for the senior national team."
Prass added: “He had a hard time kicking with his left foot, it was horrible. He trained, trained, trained, trained, and today he finishes well with both feet."
