Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that the club have made special arrangements to get Philippe Coutinho back from international duty as early as possible, so that he can return in time for the Reds’ game against Leicester on Saturday.

Coutinho is in the Brazil squad, as they face Colombia in Manaus at 1.45am Wednesday morning. Klopp says that Liverpool have arranged special flights to return him to Merseyside as quickly as possible after the game in the Amazon.

“I don’t get frustrated by things I cannot change. Actually, I don’t think any manager in this moment is happy about the international break. For Coutinho, he is coming back Thursday morning at 9am and only because we make a few special arrangements with flights.

“Otherwise he would come on Thursday night, so nobody wants this. But we cannot change so why should I complain? Not to change. It’s not the best moment in the season for splitting the squad again.”

Coutinho could be in line to start for Brazil after coming on as a substitute in the 61st minute in the Seleção’s 3-0 win over Ecuador in Quito. The score was 0-0 when Coutinho came on.
