Luan, who was excellent for Brazil during the successful campaign in the Olympic Games, hasn’t received any official proposals from Europe and is expected to stay at Grêmio.
According to the information from Rádio Gaúcha, Liverpool have submitted an official €35 million bid for Luan. But Grêmio president Romildo Bolzan Júnior repeats that they’re yet to receive an official offer for the player in the current transfer window. Grêmio are determined to keep the player, and wants at least €30 million if they’re to release him. A representative of Premier League champions Leicester City had conversations with Peixoto, but a proposal never reached Grêmio.
Romildo Bolzan said: “We don’t have any proposal. At the end of last year, an English group came to us and made an offer that we thought wasn’t enough. We rejected. That’s it. Nothing more. Let’s hope, in football we can’t guarantee anything. But it’s what I said, there’s no proposal.”
“Luan was the best in Olympics. He was better than the attackers who were sold for €33 million and €28 million, Gabriel Jesus and Gabigol, respectively. We believe that today Luan is much more valued than these players. We have a price taking into account these situations on economic rights of the player.”
Meanwhile, defensive midfielder Walace, who also had eye-catching performances for the Seleção, has been attracting the interest of European teams. La Liga side Espanyol had reportedly made an offer for Walace, but it didn’t meet Grêmio’s €12 million valuation. Romildo said: “There was a team that made an offer for Walace, but we believe that he’s worth more than that and didn’t close the sale.”
