Liverpool will submit a €30m bid for Grêmio forward Luan before Wednesday night’s European transfer window deadline, according to Brazilian radio station Futebol da Gaucho. The Grêmio attacker recently helped his country to win the gold medal for football at this summer’s Olympics.
With the relationship between Jurgen Klopp and Daniel Sturridge reportedly deteriorating, Klopp could look to reinforce his forward line by acquiring 23 year old Luan. The Brazilian scored for Grêmio in their 1-1 draw with Atlético Mineiro on Sunday.
Luan is capable of playing all across the forward line, as well as just behind the attackers. His ability to play wide, in behind and through the centre seems to fit the bill for a Klopp attacker, who already has similar players such as Firmino, Coutinho and Mané at his disposal.
Klopp has reportedly fallen out with striker Daniel Sturridge as the player objects to being used in a wide forward role, something Luan can do capably. Luan has scored 38 goals in 147 appearances for Grêmio.
