Santos striker Gabigol has already arrived in Italy and should be officially announced by Inter Milan in the coming hours.
Through their Twitter account, Inter Milan shared pictures of the Brazilian striker arriving at the airport, where he was received very well by the club’s supporters. It’s worth noting that there’s a clause in the contract of Gabigol which forces Santos to release the 19-year-old for an offer of €18 million. The rest would be transferred to the player himself, who holds 40% of his economic rights. The share of investment group Doyen would be deposited in court by Santos. Earlier this month, Juventus and Inter Milan had officially presented proposals of €20 million and €25 million, respectively. Gabigol, who won the Gold medal in men’s football in the Olympic Games, was waiting for the end of the competition to decide his future. According to Lance!, Leicester City and Atlético Madrid had also submitted offers for the attacker, but the Nerazzurri were more convincing. The expectation is that the player is presented to his new club only in January 2017, after the end of the Brazilian Championship. In Italy, Gabigol will see the club’s facilities and perform medical tests. If approved, the official announcement of the signing should be made in the next few hours.
