Monaco wants €30 million from Manchester United for Fabinho
Brazilian right-back Fabinho scored Monaco's winning goal against Villarreal on Tuesday in the UEFA Champions League playoffs.
Fabinho can leave Monaco in the current transfer window, with Manchester United manager José Mourinho believed to be an admirer of the player. A day after Fabinho scored the winner over Villarreal, which sealed the team's qualification to the UEFA Champions League group stages, France Football reported that Manchester United may be the player's next destination. The former Fluminense man would be a main target for José Mourinho to boost his team's defense before the end of the transfer window. According to the publication, the Brazilian would have the permission to leave Monaco after the UEFA Champions League playoffs. The interest of Manchester United in Fabinho came after the arrival of Mourinho. The Portuguese coach worked with Fabinho at Real Madrid and has given the approval to begin negotiations to sign him.
According to L'Équipe, Monaco wants at least €30 million to release the 22-year-old. Revealed by Fluminense, Fabinho joined the B team of Real Madrid in 2013 after passing through Portuguese side Rio Ave. In France, the right-back has established himself as one of the team's major players and scored eight goals in 47 games last season.
