Tite has confirmed his first Brazil squad for World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Colombia in September. The new coach has surprisingly included Paulinho, who has not played for his country since the 2014 World Cup. He has also called up several players from the gold medal winning Olympic squad.

Rodrigo Caio, Weverton, Gabriel Jesús and Gabriel Barbosa are included, along with Corinthians right-back Fágner. Douglas Costa and Thiago Silva are still injured and not considered for selection. Chelsea’s Oscar has failed to win a recall.

Seven of the players Tite has called up seven players that he has managed at club level- Fágner, Gil, Paulinho, Marquinhos, Renato Augusto and Taíson, who was also a surprise call. Marcelo of Real Madrid is recalled, another player that fell out with previous coach Dunga.

Brazil play Venezuela in Quito on Thursday, 1st September and Colombia in Manaus on 6th September. Tite confirmed that he has not decided on who the captain will be, after Neymar resigned the position this week.

MIDFIELDERS: Casemiro (Real Madrid), Giuliano (Zenit St. Petersburg), Paulinho (Guangzhou Evergrande), Rafael Carioca (Atlético Mineiro), Renato Augusto (Beijing Guoan), Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool).

FORWARDS: Willian (Chelsea), Gabriel Barbosa (Santos), Gabriel Jesús (Palmeiras), Taíson (Shakhtar Donetsk), Neymar (Barcelona).
