Grêmio sporting director Antonio Dutra has confirmed that no Premier League clubs have made an approach for in form attacker Luan, despite reports of interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and champions Leicester City.
Luan is currently playing for Brazil at the Olympics and will contest the gold medal with Germany on Saturday evening, his performances have reportedly sparked interest from a number of top Premier League clubs.
However, Grêmio insist that no offers have been forthcoming at this stage. Speaking to sportwitness.co.uk, Arturo said, “We haven’t received any bids, that’s all I can tell you, because there’s nothing.”
Leicester City were strongly linked with Luan in July, but Arturo insist that interest was never followed up, “There wasn’t an offer as well. Probably there was something with his agent and the club, but nothing arrived at Grêmio.
When pressed on how much money it would take to prize Luan away from Grêmio, Dutra was coy, “We don’t have the figures defined, but it’s much more than what’s been reported.” Luan is set to start against Germany on Saturday, as Brazil bids for its first ever Olympic gold for soccer.
