La Liga side Atlético Madrid may increase their proposal to sign Brazilian attacker Gabigol from Santos.
According to the information from Globo Esporte, Atlético Madrid are determined to beat off competition from Juventus, Inter Milan and Leicester City. Gabigol will decide his future after the end of the Olympic Games. UOL Esporte reported this week that Gabigol and his father sought information about Inter Milan after receiving an official proposal of €25 million. Atlético Madrid have also offered the same amount, but they"re expected to raise the figures. Santos are contractually obliged to accept if there"s a proposal of €18 million.
According to Gabigol"s agent Wagner Ribeiro, the highest bid for the attacker comes from Premier League champions Leicester, who are willing to offer €27 million. But Santos president Modesto Roma says that he hasn"t received any official offer from the English club. Following the reports from British media, Wagner Ribeiro has also denied interest from Manchester United in the 19-year-old. Juventus were the first club to present an official offer [€20 million] for Gabigol, but the player and his entourage were not too impressed with the values.
