Brazil’s first fixture of the year will be a friendly against Portugal, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) revealed on its website today (Thursday).
In a short statement the CBF commented, “In the first friendly of 2007 Brazil will face Portugal on February 7th. The location of the game – possibly London – has yet to be confirmed.” The most likely venue for the match is Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium where Brazil beat Argentina 3-0 in September.
The last time the two sides met was in April 2003 when Portugal beat Brazil 2-1 . Luiz Felipe Scolari had already taken charge of Portugal but this will be Dunga’s first game against the Portuguese – he will be keen to extend his five match unbeaten run since becoming coach after the World Cup.
