Tests results on Friday revealed a small injury in the right hip of Brazilian defender Thiago Silva, and this will keep him out for Paris Saint-Germain’s next two games.
The first is the showdown against Lyon in the French Supercup on Saturday, and then the Ligue 1 clash with Bastia. Thiago Silva was injured after taking a blow to his hip during a friendly fixture with Real Madrid in the United States. However, the player doesn’t have to be concerned about the national team call-up for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Colombia, on September 1st and 6th, respectively. Thiago Silva is believed to be in the plans of newly appointed Brazil coach Tite. The Brazilian football federation have asked FIFA for authorization to conduct the selection on August 22 due to the Olympic Games. In addition to Thiago Silva, the French champions should also be without Uruguayan striker Édinson Cavani, who’s out with a muscle problem, while Adrien Rabiot and summer signing Krychowiak are suspended.
