Manchester City and Palmeiras have closed an agreement for the transfer of Gabriel Jesus
Two of the biggest talents in Brazilian football at the moment, Santos striker Gabigol and Palmeiras attacker Gabriel Jesus gave a preas conference on Thursday.
Both players are expected to play a key role in Brazil's quest for Gold in next month's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. However, the first questions from reporters were not about the team's preparation for the tournament. Gabigol and Gabriel Jesus has been strongly linked to Juventus and Manchester City respectively.
Gabriel Jesus said: "My future is almost decided. My family, representatives and Palmeiras know where I want to go but now I'm totally focused on winning Gold for my country. The agreement is almost done but I'm completely concentrated here. Before I came here I was in negotiations. But now that I'm here I'm leaving it to my parents and my agents. Before long my decision will be known."
Meanwhile, Santos presidentModesto Roma had already revealed that he's accepted a €20 million proposal from Juventus, and that everything depends on the player now. Gabigol said: "Pretty soon we will have a definition, but now I leave it to my father and my agent."
According to Globo Esporte, Palmeiras and Manchester City have closed an agreement for the €32 million transfer of Gabriel Jesus. The 19-year-old, who received financially superior offers from Manchester United and Barcelona, was convinced following a phone call from Pep Guardiola. As mentioned in the report, only a few details remain for the transfer to be completed.
