Fiorentina makes €3 million bid for Coritiba's 21-year-old defender Juninho
Fiorentina have made an offer of €3 million for Coritiba's 21-year-old defender Juninho.
According to the information from CalcioMercato in Italy, and various Brazilian media outlets, Fiorentina are interested in signing young defender Juninho from Coritiba. The board of Coritiba rejected the intial proposal from the Italians who wanted to make the payment in instalments. The Brazilian club have asked Fiorentina to increase their offer, and has reportedly set a €5 million price for the defender. Fiorentina are expected to continue their efforts for the player, as the transfer window in Italy runs until the end of August. This is not the first time that Juninho has attracted interest from other clubs. In May, Flamengo made a strong attempt for the player, but he preferred to remain at Coritiba and signed a contract extension until December 2020. In addition to Flamengo, European teams like Lyon and Dynamo Kyiv had also made enquiries for Juninho.
