Following a request from Mircea Lucescu, Zenit prepares €7 million bid for Grêmio midfielder Giuliano
Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg are preparing an offer of €7 million for Grêmio midfielder Giuliano, who was bought from Dnipro of Ukraine in 2014.
According to the information from Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade, the Russian club have decided to raise their proposal to €7 million after approaching Grêmio with a €5.5 million bid. The proposal is expected to be submitted to the Brazilian club within Friday. The transfer of Giuliano is a special request of newly appointed Zenit coach Mircea Lucescu, who already knows the 26-year-old player from his time in Ukraine. Lucescu led Shakhtar Donetsk in the last 13 seasons and has faced the Brazilian several times. Giuliano played for Dnipro between 2010 and 2014. Grêmio did not have any intention of selling Giuliano for less than €7 million, but following the latest proposal put forward by Zenit, a transfer can be completed at any time.
