Santos forward Gabigol is currently with the Brazilian national team preparing for the Olympic Games, which will be held next month in Rio de Janeiro.
According to UOL Esporte, Santos have already decided to sell Gabigol if his agent, Wagner Ribeiro, fulfill the promise and submit an official proposal from Italian champions Juventus. Last week, before the derby against Palmeiras, Santos board met Wagner Ribeiro, who informed them about an offer of €20 million for the 40% of economic rights owned by the club. The position of Santos is final, and Gabigol will be sold if they receive the proposal. Otherwise, the club expects the number 10 to sign a contract renewal until 2021. If the agent presents the offer from Juventus, then the goal scored by Gabigol against Ponte Preta on Saturday should be his last in a Santos shirt.
The proposal from Juventus to Santos exceeds what was offered by Premier League side Chelsea, through agent Uan Figer. Chelsea’s proposal was €30 million for the whole transaction, and Santos would’ve received just €12 million from the deal. Both Santos and Gabigol are believed to be pleased with the figures presented by the Italians. Meanwhile, Brazilian journalist Paulo Vinícius Coelho reported on Monday that Atlético Madrid are interested in the 19-year-old. He also adds that German team Borussia Dortmund sent a representative to the Vila Belmiro to see Gabigol in action against Ponte Preta last weekend.
