The executive director of São Paulo, Gustavo Vieira de Oliveira, told during a press conference on Friday that playmaker Paulo Henrique Ganso, who has a proposal from Sevilla, is unlikely to play again for the club.
Asked if Ganso, who’s under treatment for a muscle injury in his right thigh, can still play for São Paulo, Gustavo said: “It’s possible? Yes. Is it likely? No.”
The proposal of Sevilla to sign Paulo Henrique Ganso is €9.5 million. The only pending detail for an agreement is the distribution of money between São Paulo and investment group DIS. On Tuesday, there was a meeting between the group and São Paulo, but a deal was not reached by the parties. According to the information from Globo Esporte, the Brazilian club want to receive a cash payment of €5 million for their 32% share. DIS owns 68% of the player’s economic rights, and they would be left with €4 million, an amount that Sevilla has signaled to pay in two instalments; a portion in 2017 and another in 2018. This model does not appeal to the investors. Meanwhile, Ganso would be willing to give up €500,000 to seal the transfer. As per contractual terms, Ganso has the right to receive a portion from the sale.
DIS director Roberto Moreno was the one responsible for talks between the parties. But Brazilian journalist Paulo Vinícius Coelho reported that, Delcir Sonda, owner of the group, has decided to conduct the negotiations himself from Thursday, following a delay in completing the transfer.
