Excited by the prospect of making a long awaited move to Europe, where he will work with Jorge Sampaoli, São Paulo playmaker Paulo Henrique Ganso has asked his club to accept the proposal from Sevilla.
However, an €8 million bid did not meet the demands of the Brazilian club, but it"s believed that Sevilla would increase their proposal to €9 million. Ganso"s current bond with São Paulo is until September 2017, and he"s free to sign a pre-contract with any team from February. As mentioned in Estadio Deportivo, investment group DIS, which owns 68% of Ganso"s economic rights, would be willing to give up a portion of their share to São Paulo, so that the club are satisfied with a possible €9 million offer. Thus, DIS would earn less money, but could at least recoup a part of what they had invested in the player – something that wouldn"t happen if São Paulo refuses to sell the midfielder. It"s worth noting that Ganso has already turned down an offer from São Paulo to extend his contract.
DIS director Roberto Moreno said: “I think it"s time to sell him. Soon he will leave for free and it"s not what he wants. He doesn"t want to harm anyone, and we do not want to disturb him. Particularly I have great affection for Paulo. And I know how important it would be for him to leave for Europe. I also know that Delcir [owner of DIS] will do the same. We will resolve it."
