Alexandre Pato has reportedly told Corinthians boss Cristavão Borges that he is ready to play for the club again, on condition that the club agree to let him leave should he receive an offer from a European club.

Pato spent 2014 and 2015 on loan at São Paulo following a miserable year with Timão in 2013. He also spent five months on loan at Chelsea, but failed to make an impression. He returned to training on Tuesday with his contract set to expire on December 31st.

Pato has a tumultuous relationship with Corinthians following a poor season in 2013, besmirched by stories of a poor attitude from the player. However, his then coach Tite has now left to take the Brazil job and Pato reportedly insisted that he was ready to play for Cristavão if selected.

Globoesporte report that Pato wants to be free to talk to clubs from Germany, Italy, England and Spain should they make an approach before the European transfer window closes in early September.

Pato is now free to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club and the player will move to another Brazilian club if no offer from Europe is forthcoming. The club would be unlikely to resist offers at this stage as they currently stand to lose Pato on a free transfer and his salary is significant.
