Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva admits that his future with Liverpool is uncertain amidst interest from Besiktas in Turkey. The Brazilian acknowledges that Jurgen Klopp’s recent arrival makes changes in the squad inevitable and the ex-Grêmio player may be considered dispensable.

Lucas told Radio Joven Pan in Brazil: “There have been some changes last season, with the coaching change. I still do not know exactly what will be my role within the group, but I am returning on Thursday to start the pre-season.

“It’s the first transfer window in which Klopp will participate more actively in Liverpool, so I will get a better idea when I return.” Besiktas agreed a deal to sign Lucas on loan last August, only for then coach Brendan Rodgers to pull the plug on the deal at the last minute.

The Mirror reports that Besiktas have renewed their interest and that Jurgen Klopp might be willing to let the Lucas leave as he seeks to overhaul his squad ahead of the coming season.
