Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid, has reportedly set his major objective for the transfer window this summer.
Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez doesn’t want to stumble over the same stone for the second time. And therefore, he’s not willing to allow rival club Barcelona to advance in negotiations for the signing of one of the jewels of Brazilian football. Florentino Pérez had failed in his attempt to sign Neymar from Santos in 2013, but the leader has now set Gabriel Jesus as a number one target this summer. Barcelona have already made moves for the 19-year-old, with club representatives Raül Sanllehí and André Cury watching the player score twice against América-MG few weeks ago.
As mentioned in Spanish newspaper SPORT, Florentino Pérez has moved late, but he doesn’t want to miss out on Gabriel, who has been labelled as the “New Neymar” in international press. Hence Pérez has already instructed his workers to prevent Barcelona from signing the youngster and bring him to the Bernabéu. Italian agent Giovanni Branchni is the intermediary that Florentino Pérez has assigned to lead the operation. The report states that Real Madrid have offered to trigger Gabriel’s €24 million release clause, plus bonuses of €6 million and €5 million to the player and agents, respectively. The initial proposal made by Barcelona was €24 million, plus €5 million in variables, and it’s believed that Gabriel prefers a move to Camp Nou.
