Palmeiras reject €20 million bid from Juventus for Gabriel Jesus
19-year-old forward Gabriel Jesus, who's having an excellent season with Palmeiras, may be the most coveted player from Brazilian football in the international transfer window.
According to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus made a €20 million bid for Gabriel Jesus, but it was turned down by Palmeiras in recent days. The idea of Palmeiras, who owns just 30% of the economic rights of the player, is to get a fee close to the €40 million release clause. Juventus are not part of the five teams that would have a discount in the pursuit of signing the young star. As per contractual terms, the release clause drops to €24 million for Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona. In the view of Juventus, Gabriel Jesus Gabriel and Paulo Dybala would have the potential to repeat the success achieved by Neymar and Lionel Messi at Barcelona.
