On loan at Chelsea until June 30, Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato will return to Corinthians if the English club does not exercise the right to purchase him.
The board of Corinthians prefer to wait for a face-to-face conversation with the 26-year-old striker if he returns to the club, and then determine whether there will be a new loan. We’ll also see if coach Cristóvão Borges opts to count on the player in the second half of the season, although the possibility is remote. In an interview with Globo Esporte, football manager Alexandre Nunes said that Chelsea so far gave no sign that they want to keep Pato, who’s currently enjoying vacation. He said: “Today we have a new coach, and Pato has six months left in his contract. When he returns to work, we need to understand what he thinks too, and what he has designed for his career. Earlier this year, he wanted to go to Europe, and went to Chelsea. There are issues we need to sit and talk.”
