Atlético Mineiro’s 22-year-old left-back Douglas Santos is being monitored by several big clubs from Europe.
According to Globo Esporte, Douglas Santos was observed during the Copa América Centenário by a scout from Barcelona, who seeks a substitute for Adriano.
Douglas is being monitored by Barcelona since March, when he played friendlies for Brazil’s Olympic national team. In the United States, he was scouted during the friendly against Panama when Dunga handed him a start. His agent Roberto Dantas has confirmed the information. Atlético Mineiro wants €10 million to sell the player, but there is an expectation that an agreement is possible for a fee in the region of €8 million. Other clubs in Europe like Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool and Valencia have also expressed an interest. However, none of the teams have made an official proposal.
Meanwhile, Hoje em Dia in Brazil reported on Tuesday that Arsenal have contacted Atlético Mineiro’s board to enquire about Douglas Santos.
