São Paulo are trying to ensure the permanence of central defender Maicon, who is currently on loan at the club from Porto, until June 30.
Despite being in constant conversation with the board of the Portuguese club to resolve the issue, São Paulo are facing strong competition from the European market. Portuguese newspaper A BOLA reported that Turkish side Fenerbahçe are preparing an offer to sign the defender. In addition to Maicon, the coach of the Turkish club, Vítor Pereira, would also be interested in taking young attacker Kélvin, who is also on loan at São Paulo, from Porto. To sign both players, Fenerbahçe are preparing a proposal of €5.5 million, and a bonus of €4.5 million would be paid if predetermined goals were met. However, the value is apparently far from Porto’s valuations of the players. According to the information from European publications, the club would want approximately €10 million euros to release Maicon.
