After playing for Olympique de Marseille last season, Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva will return to Real Madrid, but should be loaned out again for the upcoming campaign.
According to the information from Spanish newspaper MARCA, the intention of Real Madrid is to loan him out again. The reasons are simple; the player does not have a European passport and occupies a position of non-EU players. And he would not have enough minutes on the field. The publication adds that Real Madrid fully supports Lucas Silva, who spent a difficult year in France. Although Lucas had a bright start at Marseille, he slowly began to lose ground. Lucas played just 1037 minutes in the league, in 22 games – an average of 47 minutes per game. There are nine European clubs with an interest in signing Lucas this summer; they’re believed to be from Germany, Spain, Italy and Portugal. Real Madrid do not want to include a purchase option for the club that would acquire Lucas, and would want to count on him in the near future.
