Negotiations are going on between the parties for the contract renewal of São Paulo playmaker Paulo Henrique Ganso.
According to the information from UOL Esporte, Paulo Henrique Ganso’s agent Giuseppe Dioguardi assured São Paulo president Leco during a meeting on Monday that they will not talk to any other club until February 2017, if the player’s contract is not renewed. Ganso’s contract with São Paulo ends in September 2017, and thus, he’s free to sign a pre-contract with any team from the end of the second month of next year. The meeting also had the presence of Luiz Antonio da Cunha, who left the club’s director of football post on Tuesday, and São Paulo tried to get an assurance that Ganso would accept a five-year contract, in addition to hearing the wage demands of the player. Giuseppe Dioguardi, also known as Pepinho, said that the contract length will depend on the salary offered. The longer the term, the higher the required return. Pepinho now expects São Paulo to present a wage proposal.
Ganso currently earns €75,000 per-month, and had rejected an initial offer of €100,000 to renew his bond. First, however, São Paulo need to set the details of the new agreement with investment group DIS, which holds 68% of Ganso’s economic rights. Roberto Moreno, representative of the company had also attended the meeting between the parties on Monday. From May 2015, FIFA no longer allows a third-party to participate in the rights of players, but it’s believed that this wouldn’t be an issue considering the fact that Ganso’s contract was made before the new rules, in September 2012.
