Born in Fortaleza, the son of a Spanish father and a Brazilian mother, Lucas de Vega has been living in Barcelona since childhood and plays for the Catalans.
He will return to Brazil for the first time for a period of training with the U17 national team, between 5th and 10th June, at Granja Comary. Lucas was recently champion of a UEFA development tournament with the Spanish U16 side, and has reportedly attracted the interest of Premier League teams. The invitation from Brazil for training came after three staffs, including U20 coach Rogério Micale, visited Barcelona and watched the player in a game against Espanyol. Lucas, who did not return to Brazil since he moved to Spain, will have to make a decision on which national team to play in the future. Lucas’ father Adolfo said: “After the game they came to talk to me, and I allowed. He was very happy with the call from the Brazilian national team, and likes to play for Spain. After all, they are two of the world’s best teams.”
