Santos have just 10% of the economic rights of Lucas Lima and they do not want to sell the 25-year-old.
The board of Santos knows that they will have a big problem to solve after the Copa América Centenário in the United States – the future of playmaker Lucas Lima. The player has already warned Santos that he wants to play in Europe, but will not have an ‘easy life’ to get the release from Vila Belmiro. UOL Esporte found that Santos president Modesto Roma will accept to sell any player from his squad, except Lucas Lima. The reason is that they own just 10% of his economic rights. Lucas Lima has a contract with the club until the end of 2017, and has already rejected a number of big money offers from abroad. Santos believe that the amount they will receive for their share wouldn’t be enough to find a worthy replacement for Lucas Lima. The likes of Gabigol, Thiago Maia, Zeca and Gustavo Henrique are players with high market value, and the club will listen to proposals if it’s advantageous for them and the players.
