The pursuit of Corinthians for a forward seems far from over, but coach Tite and the board already have some names in mind. According to the information from Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola, Argentine striker Hernán Barcos, who’s currently a reserve at Portuguese side Sporting, was offered but had his name rejected by the technical committee. Leandro Damião already has a number of supporters within the Brazilian club. Despite having played just three games during his spell at Betis, the former Tottenham target is regarded by Tite as a dedicated player, committed and has the desired profile. At 26, Damian will be back to Brasilnos next few days looking for a club to play. The legal issues with Santos should not be an obstacle for an agreement with any rival clubs in the state, and they just need to reach terms with Damião’s representatives. Although Corinthians are yet to make an official proposal for Damião, the board believes they have a trump card in their hands. The player has never hid the fact that he was a childhood Corinthians fan.
