Considered one of the great jewels of Santos, Gabigol has been attracting the interest of European clubs for quite a while.
But the player"s agent Wagner Ribeiro ensures that the attacker is in no hurry to leave Santos. In an interview with ‘Esporte Notícia" of Rádio Bandeirantes on Wednesday, the agent said that the 19-year-old can be one of the options for Paris Saint-Germain in the next transfer window. He said: “I talked a lot with Olivier [Létang, director of PSG]. Now that the French Championship is finished, they will analyse with the coach and make a shortlist of reinforcements. The dream of the president is to win the Champions League, and have much money to invest in football. Maybe Gabigol is an option."
Ribeiro also confirmed that Santos had received a proposal close to €25 million, believed to be from Borussia Dortmund, but the club did not accept the offer. He added: “Gabigol is happy here. Santos have nothing to lose. He has a great potential, and if not now, in the future he will give an economic return to the club. It"s about time. He didn"t want to leave Santos. He"s in no hurry, and is just 19 years old. Santos, maybe because they have just a small percentage [of economic rights] knows it wouldn"t have solved the economic issues of the club."
