Corinthians have now admitted that they’re in talks with Porto for defender Felipe and runs the risk of losing the player in the next transfer window.
In an interview after the team’s draw with Grêmio on Sunday, club director Edu Gaspar said that Corinthians are still awaiting an official proposal for the player. Corinthians are already thinking about reinforcements for the defense as they’re aware that Felipe has a verbal agreement with the Portuguese side. An official proposal of around €8 million is expected to reach Corinthians in the coming days. Edu Gaspar said: “The president is in direct contact with the representatives of the player. Something seems to have come, yes, something casual and looks like we will soon get something formal. The window is closed, so you need to have perfect timing to make a transfer, but we are aware that the proposal may come. It will probably be an important proposal and should evolve over time and see what will happen during the negotiations.”
