Argentine striker Paulo Dybala had an excellent season with Juventus, and his team lifted the league title.
In an interview with El País, Dybala analyzed his performance in his first season with the Italian club. The striker scored 23 goals in Serie A, two more than his compatriot and former Corinthians man Carlos Tévez had scored in his final year at the club. He said: “I knew my first year wouldn’t be easy, but I managed to play and convert more opportunities than I thought. I never thought I would be the top scorer of the team. Many people at Juventus tell me I have similar characteristics with Tévez.”
Dybala then revealed the players that inspired him as a child, and it includes former former World Player of the Year, Ronaldinho. He added: “When I was five years old, i was in a cirlce with my friends and everyone said what they wanted to be when they grew up. I said I wanted to be the best player in the world. Everyone laughed, including me, but it was recorded in my head. Since childhood I wanted to play like Riquelme. Ronaldinho, too as I watched his games and videos. I also admire Messi.”
